چکیده
The aim of the study was to determine effect seed production environment in Sri Lanka on development, maturation, and subsequent quality. experiment conducted at six environments, three locations (Mahailluppalama (M1), Polonnaruwa (POL), Aluttarama (ALU), over two planting cycles (P1, P2). Seed development seedling quality characteristics were evaluated five reproductive (R6, R7, R8, R8 + 5 10) maturity stages. infers that late (LR) stage (R6–R8) critical determining If LR coincided with cumulative rainfall (RF) 100 mm or above 75% relative humidity (RH), categorized as wet environment, around 27.5 days required for completion maturation compared only 17.5 dry environment. lots from during surpassed minimum standards (75% final germination, germination index 300, rate 25% per day, vigor 2500 15 µmol/min/mg FW catalase activity) R7 onwards, while this occurred A significant negative correlation (r = −0.50 **) observed between glucose content, antioxidant enzyme activities percentage. In conclusion, findings provide useful information expansion areas Lanka.

Effect of Storage Periods on Seed Quality Characteristics of Three Soybean (Glycine max (L) Merrill) Varieties
Seed storage experiment was carried out to investigate the most appropriate period of storing and preserving soybean seed quality under ambient conditions. Germination percentage, seed vigour, moisture content, 1000 seed weight, protein and oil contents were assessed before storage (control), three months (90 days) and six months (180 days) after storage. The results indicated that soybean seed...

Assessment of seed storage protein composition of six Iranian adopted soybean cultivars [Glycine max (L.) Merrill.]
Seed protein quality is an important topic in the production of soybean. The quality of soybean proteins is limited by anti-nutrient proteins and low levels of essential sulfur amino acids. In this study, protein content and solubility of six cultivars were evaluated and seed storage proteins were analyzed using SDS-PAGE and scanning densitometry. The results showed that seed storage protein ba...
متن کاملEffects of maturity group, seed composition and storage conditions on the quality and storability of soybean (Glycine max L. Merrill) seed
Soybean seed is usually not carried-over to the next planting season because it deteriorates rapidly in storage, resulting in poor growth when planted. This rapid deterioration is a serious problem in seed production. The short shelf life of soybean seed is the result of its high lipid content and high levels of polyunsaturated linolenic and linoleic acids. The soybean production practice of pl...
متن کاملPigmented Soybean (Glycine max) Seed Coats Accumulate Proanthocyanidins during Development.
The dominant I gene inhibits accumulation of anthocyanin pigments in the epidermal layer of soybean (Glycine max) seed coats. Seed-coat color is also influenced by the R locus and by the pubescence color alleles (T, tawny; t, gray). Protein and RNA from cultivars with black (i,R,T) and brown (i,r,T) seed coats are difficult to extract. To determine the nature of the interfering plant products, ...
